16 channels at close to $6K.

That's almost double the cost of their last flagship product.

I'll be holding on to my AD16-X for quite a while.

of course. good times to invest in the "old" stuff.  
just added two rosettas to my ad16x/da16x setup. thats 32 channels of pristine conversion for a price i could not afford a few years ago.
and if you´re a PT guy, nobody knows what avid comes up with next!? i will stick with my good old g5 and hd2/apogee - rig till everything burst into flames...
let´s talk when they got the "new standard" up and running. seems to last till the end of 2010.
