Save your money. The local Radio Shack carries a better tool.

My nice Weller WD1 65 watt iron wasn't able to solder 8ga bus wire to binding posts without holding it on there for way too long. So I got one of these bad boys. It needs a variac to bring down the temperature but there is plenty of juice. http://www.americanbeautytools.com/site/models/si/14  Very manly.
 
That is really just a cheap variable SCR station controlling a standard plug-in iron.
Good for some light work, but I use the WTCPT for my endless 10 hour days using  800 degree tips.  WITH Rochey style ventilation.
Even the middle shelf weller buckles on 1/4" switchcraft.  It was on it's knees with a iMac recap.
