Hi Pucho,

around here, when some1 says : 4K, we can assume he means 'SSL 4000 console'... But Google doesn't speak our techy lingo very well... So if you type 4K armrest, you will get nada but automotive links...

Now, if you try : 'ssl4000 armrest', then the very first link (on GS, for once) will give you the correct answer... ;)

Usually the screws are in the middle of each bucket, so you only need to remove the 2 faders in the center. A stubby screwdriver works good, or a small ratchet drive. The difficult one is at the patchbay / producers ends. Some have a panel that drops down underneath for the mains meter driver  board, you can get to it from there. Otherwise just remove the entire "under fader" type panel in these areas. If you can remove the big gray panels from the top, it's a piece of cake, but most of them only come out with the bolster off.

One thing...

when you take the last screws out, DO NOT have your feet underneath!

Sometimes grease/spilled-coffee/snot will 'glue' the armrest on, and after the screws are removed, it stays in place; 'stuck'.

Some investigative pushing and tugging usually frees is suddenly, unexpectedly, spectacularly, and (if your feet are directly beneath) expensively!!!

;D
