Gigatones of work. Cool!

;D It's redbush...

Nothing like a good cuppa to keep you going on long builds...

Sorry for the stupid question
SSC board bom says to use 24V relays
Where do I get the 24V power supply (for relay)?
Thanks

I think you just use the +12 / -12 V rails from the GSSL main board.

I built a separate +24V Power Supply.

I will post schematic when I have time.

Hi Matthew,

Where do you get your 1U chassis from?  Is it a UK supplier?

Thanks,

Matt

Yeah, the way I see it, I can get a blank case from Canford, Farnel or Maplin for about £50. Then I still need to design the front panel and get it engraved/screen-printed or just get a case for £60-70 from here:

http://www.diy-racked.com/diy-talk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18

Purusha's cases may be un-original (I suspect quite a few people buy them) but they are handy and help get the project finished quickly and looking reasonable. Build quality is medium, but that's only because I like proper heavy duty stuff. Purusha's cases does the job for me regarding cost/benefits.

I have 2 blue 1176, 1 LA2A and a GSSL and I am very pleased with these cases.

Delivery in from EU, so no nasty import duties....

Each time I've ordered, I've gotten the goods within 1 week. Purusha is also very good at replying to emails.

Hope that helps
JD

hello and thank Matthew
another stupid question ...
I just finished SSL main board and I made some measurements ..
Do I measure the voltage before plugging in all IC and VCA?

Cheers Igor, so how could I improve my wiring?

Any ideas? Anybody?

i could'nt do it better, i that mean so much connection so much wire cause there is not so much guys who make gssl with turbo and 2 sidechain filter cause it's a wire jungle.

I guess that's why so many new GSSL designs popping up on this forum...

To be honest, I don't mind all the cables... No one looks inside anyway... and with the GSSL the audio signal path is ultra simple and short. All that wire rat nest of cable is just for CV so I'm not to bothered...

Hi guys ???
Can someone explain how to properly orient the lorlin?
I finished the compressor (with no additional board)
the sound passes but does not compress
the meter moves very little...
thanks

I replied to your question in the GSSL help thread

Hope it all works out for you in the end... it will be worth it

Thanks Matthew
my GSSL is alive! ;D
I will now try to add 2 + Turbo SSC board ...
I found on an Italian forum like this a number of changes to be done to improve
Can you tell me what are the changes made in the input output?
THANKS

Looks pretty good... but expensive....

My idea of using relays is also just as expensive.....

I'm starting to wonder really how much are the last to positions really worth???
