I usually specify a score, or at least a 'guide sheet'.

Not always an isolated area, unfortunately.. though I do have one for the next recording... -The local Bach Festival Society; which I'm actually doing as a freebie this time, since this is their anniversary year...

When I don't want to bring the HD rig with me I travel with an older 15" Macbook Pro and a 003 with a Rosetta 800 attached to it. I usually bring an eSata Glyph or G-Technology drive and put the 003 on a firewire 400. Never had it crash. Having said that if you do remote recording BACK UP RECORDER! Invest in one! It will save your life even if its a little handheld M-Audio recorder. I was recording the Indiana Symphony awhile ago and my Alesis Masterlink saved my ass!
