one question:
is the bottom PCB the voltage converter only?
or - in other words:
could I use the space for a HiZ input?
I never used the "fader" before, could use the hole for the jack ...

Is there anyone from OZ buying the Neve knobs - big and small. Maybe we can save on shipping?

Yep, only for voltage conversion.

The other option, if you wanted to keep the fader, (I was like you, but have since been converted to it's uses!) is to put a DI in between the gain switch and phantom switch. (just resistors behind that section so jack/pcb could go over the top

Guys, AMS neve was the only place that are selling them that I was able to find.

Large Red Knob            MK20004/6        23.00 GBP each
Small Grey Knob            MK20008/4        12.00 GBP each

Shipping to Australia via FedEx is approximately 22.00 GBP, this can vary depending on the quantity of knobs ordered.

Thats about $93 AUD if you include the postage and buy one set. Without postage its about $60 AUD

Thats too expensive to spend on 2 knobs for me  :(

anyone finish this build and test it? more specifically, are there any audio demos/graph demos for this pre against a 1073/1290? i am super interested in this project!!!

Yep, Dave has, the person that's offering it. Your main concern is going to be how your going to rack it and getting your hands on the proper component choices. It does look like a nice little preamp. I'd say...go for it!! You really can't go wrong..

Store says these are sold out...Bummer!  Any intentions of another run??
