I was reading over on another forum and saw some interesting tidbits on mics. Thought some of you might be interested - its a short thread:

I have one of those 414s. It sounds gorgeous. It also comes with lacquer or something over the screws and opening the case voids Klaus' warranty, so I'm not going in there anytime soon. It really sounds beautiful, though.

There were quite a few versions of 414s and they had different schemas. You can find them on Jakob's site.

Klaus has posted some of his ideas about modding here:

Although it is about Neumann, I would think AKG in principle would be the same.

BTW, I did not quite understand what did he mean in the thread by 'global feedback' in U87? I looked at the scheamtics and did not find any. Could someone point it out?
