I have "front panel" Gain control for your typical NFB op-amp based micpre. The gain potentiometer is about 5 inches away through some standard wire... I seem to be picking up some buzz. Is there something I can do to shield or minimize the buzz?

You can braid or twist the wire, however this can add some more capacitance to the opamp input.

Where in the feedback network is the gain control, out to -, - to ground?
