I have the opportunity to buy a Soundtracs IL4832 fitted with 36 channels.
But i always check for reviews or comments about it.

Anyone worked on something similar before?
Whats the cons and pros??
The price i can get it its 1400$

Thanks

HI,

i have used a number of them, and we had one for years. $1400 dollars is a sin . . . I have no idea how hard it is to keep one running. We never had any trouble with pots and switches, apart from the monitor volume pot. No idea what the spares situation is. Apart from pots(and maybe switches), I cant think there is anything too hard to pin down.

I think they sounded pretty good for the money back in the day. eq is very flexible. Built in patchbay was kinda cheep and cheerful iirc. Pres ok, nothing that special. Not rubbish though.

  Good luck!

For sure a good desk, very flexible routing and eq (for this kind of desk)
For that price it's a steal, with patience and skill (+budget for parts) it's for sure a very nice tool.
Not really service friendly. switch and pots crackles, computer style connectors needs also cleaning (bottom of the frame)
Patchbay is a weak point, but with a good cleaning it should be ok.
If you need pots in quantity, OMEG is your friend.

Go here if you need parts and infos, Tim knows Sountracs desk like no one else.

Ive spoken with the current owner.
He said the frame its for 48 Channels but only 36 channels fitted right now.
The only minus is that console has been modded a few times.

Thanks.
