My 1176 won't turn on after I changed the meter lamp bulbs. WTF?

My 1176 won't turn on after I changed the meter lamp bulbs.

I tried the search, but came up empty. If there are any existing threads on this manner, please do link!

I have two UA 1176's, both needed new bulbs, I changed the set on one 1176 and all was fine. Then I do the same to the second and now it won't turn on. No meter action, lights, or audio; nothing. I also checked the fuse and it's fine. I checked all of the wiring throughout the unit and everything looks fine. Also tried swapping back to the old bulbs, switching power cables/outlets, still nothing.

I can't even think of what I did wrong, I didn't mess with any of the guts other than the lamp clamps.

Any ideas or am I on my way to the tech?

Note: The working one is from 2006 (I bought new from UA) and the malfunctioning one is from 2000 (bought on eBay).

Check for DC across the lamps. Are any of the lamp clamp terminals shorting against the chassis?
