Came home tonight

Came home to find my wife was recording her grand piano with one Audix I5 hanging from the boom mic stand. I almost had a heart attack but I was too busy laughing and crying all at the same time.  Then I listened to the recording and it actually sounded pretty good.

Ain't it great how things can work out like that? It never ceases to amaze me how many ways you can get great sound.

1 mic can be corrected for quite a bit. 2 mics, different ball game.

Pretty sure that's Jim Dickinson's preferred way of tracking piano.

Thank you for that.  I had never heard of Jim before and after an extensive google search I now have been educated about the man.  Holy cow what a resume!

I'm reading Keith Richards Book and there he is(Jim Dickinson).  Great story.
