I want to make a pad for a slate output signal that is just too hot. Anyone have a schematic for a -20db pad? Is there enough room to build a pad into the mic connector?

Are T-Pads for unbalanced signals, and H-Pads for balanced signals?

Generally yes, but you only need an H if you have to maintain specific input and output impedances.

Your 20dB pad could be done with the left hand part of the H i.e. the two right hand horizontal values would be zero. So you could have 680 ohms at top and bottom and 150 ohms for the centre vertical R.

Cheers
