Everyone that was communicating with my on the old forum about the Melcor 1731 PCBs, just PM me here.. I still have some left at $2.75 each plus $3 shipping in the US and $5 elsewhere. So if you are interested PM me or email me at [email protected]. I also have the 1st run with a easily fixed error that I'll sell for cheap.

BTW.. has anyone contacted peter cornell? I'll email him...

Hi ikiru!

The pins that can be used for the 2520/990-esque DOAs can be had from Mil-Max:

Mil Max 0344-219013427100 Gold PCB Pins and matching sockets.

Not too sure if they will fit the holes on the 1731 pcbs from Jay??
Will be checking that soon as I got a load to build! :)

Hope that helps
Tom

On the 2520 data sheets the pins are .04 inch (1mm) in diameter & .4/.5 inch (10 - 12.5mm) long. There are quite a few Mil-max pins that fit this category.

Here is a link to the Mil-max pages I've been browsing :

Anyone knows a good replacement for the BD135 and BD136 ?

Mouser wants me to order 2000 pcs and won't sell in smaller quantities.

You can use the BD237/238's and from what I understand they'll even let you run the +/- at slightly higher voltages.

Newark stocks the bd135/136 if you decide not to go the 237/238 route.

Sorry for the newbee question- are people using these as 2520 replacements for the API clones? How do they compare sound-wise? I'm sure this was covered before but it's one of the things I didn't save from the other forum...

Thanks!

Jay,

just found a nice package in my mail!
thanks!! :thumb: also for the extra's

 where's that solderingstuff?

No problem tony! Keep in mind, the extra are the 1st run of PCBs that have the 'error' on them.. Someone posted the fix here i think, VERY easy to fix! If you need more info, let me know!
