Inspiring API Console build
« on: April 22, 2011, 08:08:28 PM »
Here's a bonus article published on-line by Tape Op, about Allen Farmelo's custom API Legacy Console.
Not a total DIY, but still a one-of-a-kind with hands-on design.  And did I let slip "inspiring"?

Love it!  I want this guy to design my new mastering console.

Nicely designed, although i'm concerned about the health of the sound guy - not just that his ass gonna hurt if he'll be sitting all day on a stool like that, but it's a straight way to prostate inflammation...

Unbelievablely nice. Kinda like a post-modern rendering of an Api. Long overdue.

Beautiful.

I just had a listen to some MP3's of that DSM system he based this on. Sounds very good...
If the MP3 sounds that good...i can imagine what the WAV is like.

I've never really considered investing in an argosy type desk with a DSM. But now, a serious consideration...
