PRR, thanks for your reply, I reflowed the joints on the chip sockets and the problems disappeared! Great.
So now I'm wondering how I can get a bit better noise performance from the design. It's pretty good but on quiet acoustic music it has a bit more hiss than I'd like. Where can I improve to bring this down?
