Bugger! I had a transformer en route from Cinemag. Should have been here any day now. Hopefully they come to a speedy resolution, and that employees are given a fair settlement.

I hope no one here has anything they are waiting for. Might be a long one.

I have a new motherboard stuck in Canada....hope everything gets worked out soon. Especially for you all living in Canada!

I have a few mics coming from Advanced Audio and a bunch of cases to ship.  Does it look like the lock will last long or be 1 or 2 days?

As Ptownkid said, the government is going to step in on this one. Although the NDP are opposing the action which could slow things down. Socialists, geez. Postal service could be back up by Monday, but it looks like another week at least. According to an article I read, the Union and Canada post get one more chance to reach an agreement before they will be forced into arbitrated negotiation.

Some days I am thankful for my non union job.

I have quite a few poor man's EQP1A PCBs on route to Canada. Hope they get there all right. One buyer from Canada asked to delay payment and shipment until after the dispute was resolved.

Cheers

Ian

One of the issues is government  wanting to claw back pension benefits
If you could trust management you wouldn't need unions [ not that many of them
have any power anyway ] I bet they're pensions are pretty good and we've all heard
about big manager bonuses , but saddly most of us have NO pension plan
good work if you can get it , I guess

Same thing is happening here in the UK. Many 'public servants' (sic) have very generous pensions linked to their final salary. The rest of us get a pension based on how much we can squirrel away into a pension pot throughout our working lives which ends up being a small fraction of of what 'public servants' get.  Now they are planning mass strike action.

Cheers

Back to work legislation could be in effect today or tomorrow, so if that actually happens they should be back to work this week.

So, i checked all good and not good options today.  Seems that for my cases UPS was gonna be much cheaper.  Just not sure about duties and fees.  i'm sure they wont be cheap but it will be cheaper then Fedex who wanted $170 per package (3 cases) and USPS global $160 per package.  The Global express is still getting through because they actually just use Fedex for it.

Anyway, good luck guys stuff will be coming UPS.

The latest news. Canada post and union negotiations have broken off again, so the government hopes to push the back to work legislation through tomorrow morning. Maybe next week, I'll get me some mail!

Ya! I hope you do! :) and that will mean no more slow pro tools for me!

Sweet! Slow pro tools can't be good. I am on buggy logic myself. No fix for that yet!

Anyway, unless something happens, mail delivery should resume Tuesday! Come on CM2480!
