where to get serial number plates/tags?

the kind that are made out of aluminum with the numbers stamped into the,,.... can be stick on or riveted... doesnt much matter to me..
 
I think the metalphoto people (who I remember talking to at some point for front panels) do that kind of stuff.

I have seen them in either the RS or the Farnell catalogue. If it's Farnell, you can order them through Newark...

I used to make those old school labels. You need a stamp machine.
That's the hook. Prety expensive I imagine. Maybe evilbay.
You might get away with a typewriter, then clean off the ink.
They would usually have the company name and a few other bits of info, and then there would be blank areas where you would stamp in such things as model and serial numbers. They had em in red, black, and a few other colors. They would really spruce up a clone, like the back of a LA2.

Or take the ribbon off the typewritter
 
You can get a kit of "stamps" with letters and numbers the same place you can get the plates (still RS or Farnell). They are not too expensive, and the only tool you need is a hammer...
