I received this e-mail from Ken Hirsch at Orphan Audio yesterday.....

RIP: Robert "Bud" Bennett , Quad-Eight.
Ron Bennett, son of Bud Bennett informed me that his father passed away on Sunday June 12th.
Robert "Bud" Bennett founded Quad-Eight Sound in the early 60s as a contract builder of custom film and TV audio recording systems after working as chief engineer at MGM and Todd-AO studios. He went on to create Quad-Eight Electronics as a worldwide leader in design and manufacturing of professional recording consoles and studio equipment.
His contributions to the development of  modern film scoring and dubbing consoles, the revolutionary 6-track film recording system and craftsman quality studio equipment are only a few examples of his legacy that carry on to this day.

Please pass this on to other concerned pro-audio community members.
