I've recently released an album with my group on which i used a combination of a Marshall JCM2000 DSL50 and an Orange AD30TC combo - i thought some of you might be interested in hearing the 2 amps blended together on record...
The method i used was to go in and track everything on the Marshall and then i usually doubled everything with the Orange or just used it to boost in choruses/bridges etc... I found the mix of the 2 really useful as the DSL50 on the red channel has got that highly distorted 'bees' element to it whereas the Orange has got endless punch and tone even when pushed hard... The 2 together gave me some really nice thick and heavy rock sounds:
You can hear a few tracks here: http://www.pintsizehero.com
You can watch a music video showing the 2 amps here: http://youtu.be/MMd04juT9UA?hd=1
I hope this inspires people who haven't already tried the method to start blending amps together, i had such a Eureka moment in the studio when i realised how sweet you can make your guitars come out using more than one amp!
