Ampex ag440 users

I'm in the process of maybe buying a ag440c two track. After reading the manual it says that the machine is rack mountable. Do you need a special rail kit or can you just un mount it from the rolling stand and rack mount it strait?

I've got a 440b... you can mount the channel amps straight off the rack, but if you're looking to mount the transport,
you're gonna need some kind of racking kit.... no rack ears on that part

The AG440 Transport mounting holes will line
right up to rack rails. No ups or extras needed !!

My 2 track was at one time rack mounted.

Oh man do I feel dumb.... thanks Gary! He's right, I neglected to remember that the transport must first be removed from it's case before racking :

Before you buy a 440c, make darn sure all the switches on the audio electronics boxes work properly. They tend to get wonky, and replacements are almost impossible to get (long out of production).
