woa talk about cool. I always though spector was a genius at what he did but who would have thought he was crazy. then again there is that fine line between genius and crazy that is usually blurry.

thinking how this was done. either a 3 track or a couple of mono machines doing sound on sound?
 
i remember reading an interview with larry levine, in which he stated that for 'overdubs' they simply disconnected the erase head.

then did another pass, on top of the music track.  he didn't mention if this was done on a copy of the original or not.
if not, that could be a good example of a high pressure vocal take.
