Hi guys.
After the holidays I came to studio to power up the Apogee 800 with no luck. The soft power button did kick in in the relay initially but something went wrong and all I hear now is a ticking noise, and the red power led blinking dim. Ticking noise slows down to halt when I take the power cord off.
Anybody else has this unit that had a similar issue?
cheers

Thanks a lot !
It could be this one or a mean well.. I'll check later.
The issue comes from the SMPSU indeed, 5V rail is shorted.
Thied to quickly find the faulty component but I did not had enough time as this happened during a recording session ...

Is the 5V rail shorted within the power supply, or on the main board?

I seem to recall Ensembles had a few cases where some of the tantalum caps s**t the bed. I revived one myself a few months back, but that "only" had one tant shorted in the ch1/2 input opamp area (and the resistor "upstream" of it, blown).
