Hey there,

Anyone around who's gotten their hands on the PEQ-1 project? My main concern behooves the power transformer :D

Looks like at their website: http://www.myaudiolab.com, they've used two 230:20 V transformers.

I'll be looking at a sontec mono and peq-1 in a single case (3U, otherwise the front alignment of the peq-1 will not work out).

Is there a way to strike a balance with powering both units in one case?

Since I'll be choosing the 24 v opamps for the sontec, it'll be a 24 & 12 V set, allotted on both units.

Any suggestions?

Mike the thread hiker.

Probably less than 20V secondaries, transformers wired back to back for a 230VAC secondary, used for (prob.12V AC or DC) heater and (prob.about 300VDC) HV rails.
(have a look at Gyrafs pultec or G9 to get the idea how to get to this lethal HV voltage)

Your sontec rails will be +24VDC and -24VDC.

Don't.
You'd need a 3rd about 44VAC center tapped mains transformer or a custom built one for all 4 rail voltages.
