I've got a bad interstage on our 86A, I also have a replacement from Sowter. How can I extract the old epoxied transformer from its casing so I can insert the new one?

220 degree in the oven for an hour will get it to flow, and you can extract.  You'll have to break the catch point on the phenolic terminal mount, hopefully not much.  Oven better than heat gun, keep your paint good.

The phenolic mount came out with little problem. I'll give the oven a try, just need to figure out what oven to use. I tried it in boiling water for a bit (not an hour) and it stunk things up in the way that old nasty chemicals might.
