I've been looking for a good wintertime build project, and thought I'd try to tackle the Hairball stereo 1176 rev.D (Collective Cases makes such a nice case for it!) But as I'm a bit new to this game, I'd love to know if anyone out there has a complete BOM for this project. Hairball audio doesn't post one, and there seems to be no direct support for this project on MNATs site.

I get that this project involves basically building two 1176s and a stereo link, but the compression ratio switches on the stereo version are different than on a regular 1176, and Hairball doesn't seem to supply or specify this component...and I'm guessing there are probably other different components too.

A little advice at this stage would be greatly welcomed!

Thanks in advance for all your kind assistance,
Paprika

Use the Meta my friend.. ere you go...  http://mnats.net/1176_revision_d.html

Thanks! I did find the link to the section in MNATs 1176 wiring guide that talks about wiring a rotary switch. But can you steer me to the right rotary switch to use?

Thanks much Creal! That's just what I was looking for!!

I don't know what the pictured switch is, but I and many other folks are using Lorlins which are listed on many of the available BOMs. I believe the Mnats board set still comes with a ratio switch PCB which will pretty much do all the work for you. You just install the switch, and then link a bunch of numbered pads to matching pads on the main PCB... it's cake. Definitely check if they still come with the board set, because I ordered my board set in '82 or something.

I was wondering if anyone could post how they wired the toggle switches up for power, bypass, and link/dual I would much appreciate it.  Or if anyone wants to chime in on how to wire it up that would be RADSauce!

There is a thread here already that has a ton of info in it.

The links in the first post will help with most everything.  Skylar did a wiring diagram that will help with most everything.  Compare it against the schematic and it will all start to make sense.  It took me a little bit as well but there is so much info already here.  Lets just try and keep it in that thread to help keep the forum organized.
