Hi!

Just wondering if someone has changed the counter in a
Studer A80 MK1?
The mechanical version in my MK1 is getting stuck,
and found a MK1/MK2 digital/LED counter, but
when I put it in the machine, it's not working.
So, do I need a new location/counter card?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Best,
Tom

I can't help you with your question, but I'll tell a funny story.

Awhile ago, one of my friends back East was refurbishing a studio and wanted a cool counter for a Studer multitrack, so he contacted a guy who built him a counter out of Nixie tubes.

Around that time, one of my friends here in Baja Arizona told me that he just finished building a tape machine counter out of Nixie tubes for some guy in NY.

So I said, "Dave, meet Dave." Neither of them were surprised that I knew the other.
