i picked this up on ebay about a year a go for about 50 usd.  my plan was just to use the chassis for another project and any useful electronics inside would just be a bonus.  i was pleasantly surprised to find over 200 nice omron dil dpdt signal relays inside which ive used here and there on other projects.  it would be cool if it could function as a programmable router that could be controlled by a PC or other interface.

the unit is 1 ru high and about 350 mm deep.  the front panel has 4 groups of 8 tt connectors with a red LED above each.  the rear has 4 MDR connectors, a BNC jack labeled "network" and a small d-sub connector "console"
the cpu board contains a motorola/freescale mc6834 as well as several PROM ICs.  my best guess is it was used with an "A" series digital console or a 9000 j. it was manufactured in the mid 90's.  the cpu board is part # 6086441XC and the main relay PCB is part # 626460X1.  does anyone know anything about or have any technical documentation for this unit- maybe one of you former ssl employees?? any input would be greatly appreciated!
thanks -clayton t.

because of it's age of around the 1990's I wonder if that goes with their axiom digital console line that was around that time. I know a few guys you could ask including the boards own SSL tech. Have you asked him yet?
