Hey guys,

I've got several of these units running into a balanced box in order to use them in Pro Tools.  The Alex had the original Lexi chip and the reverbs sound really quite good in them.  However, there's tons of white noise/hiss in this (balanced or unbalanced, same difference).  What is causing this noise?  The converters?  It's a very clean hiss, but it's just unacceptable.  Is there anything that can be done to make them more useable in a modern situation?  Any mods?  Anything?

Thanks,
Sig

I suppose I could be referring to many of the "cheaper" reverb units of the late 80's and 90's, and not just the Lexi stuff.  Would swapping out opamp chips or any other chips make a difference?  I haven't cracked em open to even see what's inside yet.

Thanks,
Sig
