Does anyone know who makes a male XLR insert ( 5-pin ) that will
fit in the base of one of those MXL mics.
Has a screw thread which makes ground connection too.
My little mic mod is hardwired at the moment.

Huge thanks.

I saw these at Rapid (again!!) earlier in the week

You may have to check XLR compatability

Oooh!

Those look like Binder/Tuchels which are used with newer
Neumann tubemics etc.
Not compatible with what I want but I want to use some on
some stuff in the future.
The problem is that SOME XLR plugs have a screw securing
the insert and some dont.
Nutriks don't seem to but Cannons do, only I can't find any
Cannons.
The MXL type mics all seem to use these screw-in male inserts.

Thanks

Oh - I see
You want to use the inner workings of the XLR 5 pin and not the chassis mount itself and some have a screw to allow you to detach it?
Why not just use the innards from a male Cable Plug?
Or this?

Hooraahh!!!

Yep that would work nicely.
I opened up several cable plugs and NONE of them had the screw
terminal but rather were held in place by the other bits but I DID
eventually find that Neutrik does make a panel connector just like the one
in your link that has the screw.
I'm a happy man for the first time today!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!

Sleeper, which Switchfraft panel mount was it you used? Was it the circular one c5m? Where did you get it?
