Hey guys, thought I'd share a post I did on reamping. I know some people love reamping, others don't bother but if you have any questions about it I hopefully this answers most of them.

Very good explanation and examples. 

I'll suggest this to anyone that wants some insight into reamping.
 
cool, never seen the snare drum excitation technique before.  Will have to try it.
 
Hmm ... strange how the term seems to have evolved - I never would have referred to patching in an outboard processor as 'reamping' ... still, good article.

Yea it's not the definition I'm used to as well but more and more I'm getting artists who define it that way, especially in the days of everyone doing everything in the box, anytime the signal gets out and through a piece of hardware can make a big difference in the sound.
