Hey, does anybody know where I could find information about taking a module from a MCI JH600 and hooking up power and xlr's to the preamp. I'd like to rackmount the preamp. I've done some  electronics projects here, but I'd like to know how complicated it would be.

Thanks !

I find this on the net...

I have now the power supply made but , i have a little confusion in the wiring the rest of the circuit.

Its not that complicated!

For Phantom, Phase and Pad functions you could use a JLM Audio Dingo before the mike input.
Then you need a Gain-Poti( if i remember right a 5k revlog) and  i think there was some Switching for 2 different gain-ranges.
Output is unbalanced, maybe you can live with that or add OBS of some sort.
Finally you need a PSU delivering +/- Voltage and 48v for Phantom. Thats it!

regards,
Wolfgang

I have 6 JH600 modules I have bought myself and plan to rack them. Check out these links and you will find information about upgrading the preamps/modules as well.

Do you plan to just use only the preamp or the the whole channel-module with eq-section as well?

I plan use this only as preamp ! , but my big confusion is whit the pin out in the MCI JH600 PreAmp boards ... (i have no experience whit this , and if you can make a little draw for how to connect this , i will thankful )

Here are some pics of the stuff i have now !

And a little indication of how to connect the psu and the toroidal

At this moment i will be start making a recap in the MCI JH600 PreAmp boards ( i have 25 unit of 15 uF 25v , 5 unit of 100uF 25v , 10 unit of 15uF 63v ) .. also 8 xlr connectors ( 4 male 4 female ) and 4 pot 5k )

FYI - here are some further JH600 preamp mods with wima bypass caps on the electrolytics, MAT12 and OPA134 op-amp upgrades. They sound great!
