I was looking at the pics inside the Telefunken AR-51 I'm attempting to clone, and I realized I was able to read the value on the Illinois cap (.001uf). The problem is that I already bought the parts, and for some reason, thought this cap was supposed to be at .0047uf (dumb, right?).
Anyway, I was wondering what tonal change could I expect from just using the .0047uf in place of the .001uf? As a circuit reference, it would be like changing C5 in a ELA M 251, C11 in an AKG C12, and C5 in a slightly modified Apex 460 circuit with 251-ish specs. Ordering just one cap from Allied Electronics would be murder on shipping. Does anyone know of another vendor of Illinois caps? Thanks.
