Howdy folks. So, i am really looking at swapping out keybeds on my controller because I miss having fully-weighted action, but I have no need for 88 keys (I'm only doing horn and string arrangements, not gigging on piano/keyboards)
I used to have a Kurzweil K2600xs which i had to open up once or twice, so I know what the innards of midi controllers look like. usually there is a ribbon cable running from the keybed into the controller board, and that's it. Has anyone had any experience chopping down a keybed or swapping out keybeds? I'd like to replace the 61-key synth action keybed in my Impulse for fully-weighted (including aftertouch, so probably a Fatar assembly)
