Can anyone clarify which one would be closest to the original U67 transformer? The AMI Bv12 claims to be a direct replacement with NOS lamination, with a price tag of $550. The T67 is said to be similar to the Bv12 and that it is pcb mountable. It's $110, a fifth of the price of the bv12 and I am assuming that it is close to half of the price of the ioaudio bv.12. I have an ioaudio transformer in my u47 clone, and it's amazing, so I already know that he makes quality stuff, but I figured that I would throw this out there and hear what people have to say about the differences in sound, bang for buck etc.

Triple bump! I'm thinking of ordering the AMI BV12. Anyone used it in this build or a genuine U67?

Quadruple bump...... also wondering if anyone tried A Neumann K 67 from Sennheiser ....

I will be using an AMI BV12 classic and a neumann kk67 head unit. It's on hold for a couple of other projects but will post again when I get to it.

Unless using a real Neumann K67 I cant see the point in worrying too much about the transformer too as long as they are close & to my humble ears they all sound good & similar to each other... where as a capsule is a MASSIVE! part of the the sound of a mic & the transformer a much smaller part ,I think a clone 67 mic or any classic mic would sound way more like original mic if it had original capsule & clone transformer than a mic with clone capsule & orig transformer.... So I think Im gonna save my pennies for a Neumann capsule.

Look forward to mickdundee63 s mic when its done.

All the best
