Hi everyone

Moving forward please order through my new website..

http://www.heisermanaudio.com/

HK12 is in production! Price is $425 plus shipping and Paypal fees.

My K47 style capsule, It’s a bit of hybrid capsule, a mix between a 67 and 47 from the construction but 100% the sound of the 47 style capsules everyone loves. The hole pattern is the same as the 47 but uses 2 back plates like a 67. I think it sounds fantastic.

;D
Ok here is the deal. My capsules are machined and tuned here in the USA!!! The Mylar was coated here in Chicago using Neumann specs. Not only that I will make sure you are happy!! Regardless of why I will make sure the capsule you buy meets your expectations.
So the price for the 87 and 67 and the new HK47 is 250 plus shipping, and I will ship anyway you want.  PayPal is the preferred method of payment.  And wait!! There is more...I will also re skin any capsule as well that has a 23mm target of gold on the Mylar.  That’s most u67, u87 k47 type capsules. Please contact me for details regarding having a capsule re-skinned.

Thanks,

TSKGUY

Got my 2nd one from tskguy and threw it in to the mic. here's the clip I did. I'm very happy. Very very happy. No pop filter, so there's one faux pas that you can hear. Going into a Golden Age (stock) Pre73 DLX into an mBox2. Thank Eric. He took the time to tweak and tune the capsule till I was happy. Who on the planet does that? Do you think this sounds as good as I do? Polystyrenes and Cinemag transformer.

I agree more detail for sure, your 87 sounds pretty darn close, Cant wait to hear it in a mix. I am so glad you are happy!

Eric

seems like this capsule sounds way better than the RK-87 stuff

how about a discount for two capsules ? :D

are you using 6 micron for the diaphragm?

Hey attic,
I used the Pacific Pro Audio LD-1

Jeff

ar you so far impressed by how it stands out against the original?

how is your experience with the head grill since you've done quite some builds now? is it as crucial as it's always said or does the capsule & electronics have 95% of the impact?

By all accounts, mine sounds just like the orig, with a bit more presence or definition in the mid range. I'm not going to change a thing. Am I impressed? Impressed, and thrilled. Not any kind of design expert, but I will say that the difference in size of the head basket has little affect if any on the sound.

great, I'm completely stoked now :D

How does it compare to the RK-87?

Mr Attic,
In my opinion the RK-87 is a bit harsh compared to my capsule. My cap still has air and a good mid without the brittle chinese tone you get on some cheaper capsules. I spent a long time on the way my capsule sounds.

No idea. I'd suggest going through the thread and digging out a clip.

Yes, I use 6 micron Mylar. I have information from a very good resource that says the three micron stuff stretches over time and gets sucked to the backplate.

I have been toying with the idea but that capsule is a very complicated piece of machining. Tim is already doing a very nice job with his version so it’s a tuff call.
Happily most of my free time has been making my 67 and 87 style caps! I haven’t had much time to try and make one yet! Stay tuned.

Eric
