Peluso has a rubber "stem" that the saddle attaches to. The HST-11a and all its clones also use a version of this "stem" for shockmounting purposes. Also check out internal pics of a Neumann U-87, AKG C12, and AKG C 414 because they too use shockmounted capsules. So to answer your question rubber or elastic is good for shockmounting, and nothing goes between the capsule and the saddle.
