U47 - U67 - U87 Mesh sizes
« on: December 11, 2012, 04:29:33 AM »
Hi All,

Wanted to put a feeler out there for what are the preferred mesh sizes for the head baskets of U47, U67 and U87?
How many layers is preferred?
what distance of the opening in each mesh piece?
as much info to be as accurate as possible really.

regards

Spence.

Near as I can figure:

-Top layer:  45 degree orientation 10x10 mesh .6mm wire diameter or .023"

-Middle layer: 90 degree orientation 50x50 mesh ?? (very thin) wire diameter

-Inside Layer: 90 degree orientation 12x12 mesh .5mm wire diameter

Working on a custom mesh configuration myself. . . let me know if you are able to verify or clarify these specs per real U47.

Hi Chunger,

thanks for the info, much appreciated.
I do need to get sizes for U47 head basket as well if you know anything?
top and bottom ring and connectors, im working with 60mm body and 63mm head basket.
The top and bottom rings of the head basket thickness? 2mm? height looks on the bottom one to be 10-12mm?
the top ring looks very thin 4-6mm?
I hope to speak to someone tomorrow who has one, so would like to pop round their studio and give it a quick measure up.
If you know any of these measurements i would love to know.

or if you know someone you can sweet talk into measuring up on all bits externally for the U47 and U67 head basket and body, im only worried about the outer dimensions as internally i will be doing some different.
must be some people on here who have the real deals?

This was all measured and posted here before skylar did his first run of bodies. Do a search on the forum for two or three years ago. I think the thread was called 'U47 bodies - who can make one?', or something similar.

Anyway, it is all here somewhere!

Hi Chunger, sorry to look a bit dumb, what is "10x10" "50x50" and "12x12"  ?
