Yamaha 1602

Hey, I was given a Yamaha 1602. I like older audio gear, but I want to mod it a bit for my own interest and upskkillng and to make it more practical. I want to add phantom power, swap out the switchable gains for some log pots, and anything else anyone can suggest. The faders are a bit scratchy and ch ten doesn't work at all. How much work is involved in the gain swap and phantom power? I'm fine with an iron and I've successfully tinkered with a few pub's.
