Hi Guys

I have an issue with a U87Ai :
it perfectly works in fig 8
in Omni and Cardio : from time to time it works well , then suddenly , no more signal, after a fex seconds, signals comes back, then disappears, then comes back with a lower level, etc ..... that's Random
when I switch back in fig 8, it perfectly works again .....

seems like a bad cap to me .... how can I troubleshoot this ?

Thanks :)

you might want to see if you could clean up the switching pins,
not sure how old it is or if the mic or has suffered bad environnement but i have seen that before ,

Best,
Dan,

you might to check the node where the polarisation voltage is , just measure before the High Megohm resistance and if you could see that the polarisation voltage goes away at the same time as your problem then the circuit pol supply line maight have a fault ,  does not look like a capsule problem but you could install a cheap K67 capsule and see if the problem follows or carfully make the breath test in the pattern which is cucesstible to create the problem , that would rule out the thing.
Hope this helps,

Best,
Dany,

Dan , you're the best !
the breath test solved the problem
tried and swaped the capsule, and now it works fine :)
Thanks my friend
