I am waiting waiting waiting for pricing on mic body parts. Got just about all of the little details ironed out. The shop is busy too... Argh. But you are right, DIY makes it better!
I made some 8" long DIY isolation XLR cables for use with my shockmounts for orchestra recording. They work great! Removed that last bit of LF rumble. Sometimes it's the little stuff.
And I am leaving my Santa hat on because we are going to get a good foot of snow possibly today!

body mic parts? ummmm it deserves a whole new thread, i'm interested in DIYing a ribbon mic with Lundahl trafo and DIYAC ribbon motor http://www.diyaudiocomponents.com/product.php?id=2. Parts would cost about 100€ but i'm lost in body mics
