I have a 1073 clone that has lost the gain from +55 and up...

In trying to troubleshoot this I'm wondering what these little circles mean at various spots on the schematic. Red arrows point to a few of them...

Something to do with the switch?

They are a standard Neve convention for showing how the screens of cables are connected or  not connected as the case may be. The circle at one end of a screened cable may have a connection to it, such as the cables labelled 4 and 5 on the schematic you posted, both of which have their screens at the module end connected to pin V of the module. Following each cable you will see a circle at the end where they reach the gain switch assembly. The circle with no connection to it means the screen of the cable a t that end is unconnected.
