Yup, I would observe that it won a film maker award not a technology award.
If it is the same video I saw a few weeks ago, they say it approaches the same energy density as thin film lithium ion batteries. Don't know if it scales up safely or not.
A faster charging, lighter weight car battery would be a good thing, but I haven't heard that comparison made yet.

Not really. Its supposed to be a lot more efficient than those super capacitors.
