Must admit I've been a little slack of late regarding attending AES Lectures. This one is on my doorstep, so I must get along. If anyone else fancies coming along, we could always nab a Turkish meal afterwards. I know the best restaurants in the area.

Hey

I will likely be there as I need to help Nik set up the stuff for the event
It looks interesting. The guy has barely been sleeping trying to get this together and it does look pretty promissing loads of cool guests and all

There was another one with a Thermionic speaker at Cambridge a few months ago that I really wanted to go to but couldn't make it. Looks like I am not going to be able to make this one either. Pity they don't web cast or video record them so those who can't get there can see them.

Cheers

We webcasted the last guest lecture with Steve Hackett and offered to all SAE students in Europe.
I'll speak with Nik about it. May be to late to do something about it for this event but who knows!

I take it you have to be an AES member to attend?

I'm pretty sure you don't. You might have a small fee, say £5, though. I'm not sure. But I have taken non-AES member friends to lectures before.

Up your output on Saturday (Also in SAE) is strictly for AES members.
I don't think this one is.

I asked the organizer to come post in this thread if he has the time and also raised the possibility of webcasting with IT but it is pretty short notice so might not happen.

OT: found some AES papers online that might be of interest

Hey guys, thanks for the interest. The lecture on the 12th is going to be FREE to attend and one doesn't need to be a member. So you are all welcome! Actually all regular monthly AES UK meetings are open to everyone - check: www.aes-uk.org.

The 9th of March event, which will also take place at SAE London, is designated for AES Student Members - although if we have some tickets left on Friday we may open the event for all AES members or Students non-members. Web: www.aes-uk.org/up

Webcast for the 12th is a great idea, but I can not promise anything. This is something that we have discussed a few times on the Committee meetings but has always been impeded by the lack of time factor. I'll speak to Mr jplebre and consider the possibility but can not promise anything.

Cheers,
Nik

Oh, maybe you will find also interesting that for the student event Graham Boswell from Prism is bringing a dScope to let students test their own DIY devices!

@nik

Is there any chance of getting a copy of the Thermionic presentation, either this one or the one made at Cambridge?

Cheers

HI guys

Sorry about the delay.
We almost got through the red tape to get a webcast going on tuesday morning but then it didn't happen as obviously it didn't allow us enough time to set up the technical side.

On the other hand, it was filmed, audio recorded by Nik, and there are plans to make it available online as are the lecturers on saturday. The lecture on digital filters in particular was awesome and highly recommended.

Cheers!

Just found that someone has kindly made the audio of the lecture available on the AES UK site: http://www.aes-uk.org/meetings/past-meetings-archive/meetings-archive-2013/

It's only 36MB in size, so if you missed the lecture now's your chance.
