Curious if any one here has had any experience with these IC's. Really interested in your experience and what to avoid.

The chip's that have caught my interest are TI PGA2320, Microchip 22060b and NJR/JRC Muse 72320.

any info would be greatly appreciated....

The Microchip parts are linear taper digital pots and are limited to a 5V supply.

The NJR part seems to be a pre-release that's not stocked yet.  Ballpark pricing indicates that the NJR part will be less expensive than the TI part, which shouldn't be a surprise.

Both it and the TI part have +/- 15V supplies for the analog. TI requires a 5V rail for the logic supply, NJR can power the logic from a 3V supply. Both will need a low-impedance (op-amp) input drive. Both will change the gain setting on a zero crossing.

TI has a built-in op-amp buffering the resistor ladders, NJR requires an external op-amp.

TI crosstalk spec is better.

NJR can do finer attenuation steps (0.25 dB vs 0.5 dB) if that's of interest.

See if you can buy the NJR part and test it.
