Gar1731 build - what temp to solder?

I'm working in my 1731 build and I think my iron should be hotter since it's taking several seconds to heat stuff up. Says it's at 600F

i usually keep mine around 700 - 720. I go hotter if im using a very sharp tip.

When I build these guys, I use a sharp point iron running at 800 deg. and get in and out fast using Kester 44 63/37 solder.
