Hi,
When I was still a student my last year project was to design a solidstate LA2A. I was using some tube emulator block based around fet and opa. I don't remeber about the input but the output stage was something like balanced mosfet white cathode follower. T4 was made from led and nsl photocell. Worked and sounded cool. Compressed like an La4 but sounded like no urei product.

I think the "gentle compression" would sound more detailed and aggressive, no? In my experience tubes tend to make things rounder darker and smoother.

So, I guess I can't just throw wires everywhere and expect it to work  :'(.  Tightened up my wiring to the switches and pots, and now it's working without oscillation.  Seems to have been capacitive coupling somewhere in my tangle of wires that was causing it.

Sounds good on first listen!  Thanks, everyone.  Maybe I'll post an update once I've used it a bit.
