I have a Carver amp in which the MJ10023 switching transistors have shorted. I read someplace on the net that someone had successfully retrofitted IRG4CP40U IGBT's in place of the transistors. Has anyone any experiences with these devices? I'm not sure what sort of input conditioning would be needed on the gate, or biasing. From what I've read, it can only withstand maximum 20 volts on the gate.
