anyone here know any good resources about designing easy to use interfaces?

Even a decent book would be tempting. I'm thinking about mixing consoles, ADC units, fx processors etc.

Cheers

"The Design of Everyday Things" by DONALD NORMAN

We've used this as an introduction to user interfaces on a psychology course I attended. It sums up the basics of usability/user interface. Recommended. But it's not electronics-specific though - good design is good design!

There is an EEC directive on Man Machine Interfaces that nobody adheres to... (well one of my previous employers - a large dutch white goods manufacture that also makes I/Cs - had a big office on DC that only did this)
Although you can get sued if you don't comply and somebody gets in trouble and decides to take action against you..
(btw - software also comes under this umbrella)

Anyway - google "man machine interfaces" + design and you get a few nice hings...

(the best size for pushbuttons and lettering - good links down the bottom as well - the US Dept of Defence stuff is really good....)
