What is the type of the 8 pin DIL dual FET in the 1178 compressor?
(Just curious...)
I noticed that in the 1178 the gain reduction meter just indicates the changes of the gate voltage, where the 1176 uses two FETs, one for the audio gain reduction and one for the gain reduction meter.
Would it be possible to use a pair of matched 2N5457 in this position, or would the characteristic be different?
