Hi,
What kind of witchcraft lies behind vari stereo link?

Is it just a pot/stepped switch resistor assembly thingie instead of a on/off toggle switch or has it something more complicated behind it.

Im particularry interested in modding this to a GSSL type design.

I'm curious about this too. It's sounds like send n blend, but for the the side chain linkage, as I just bought 2 API 527 compressors. This is what makes the 2500 unique compared to other stereo buss comps. This same principle is applied to the UA 710 mic pre blend of fet and tube, as well on my mesa m-2000 bass amp. It has a variable blend of fet and tube while remaining in phase. The m-2000 schematic shows a 100k variable pot between fet and tube.

We have a vari-link in our upcoming G23 dual/stereo compressor: It's a simple cross-feed-blend-in of opposite-channel sidechain (DC) control voltage..
